Tenth Annual Membership Exhibition
August 12 to October 22, 2011
CTPS members conclude the Society’s thirteenth year with the Tenth Annual Membership Exhibition which runs concurrently with the group’s competition.
Members’ work reflects the groups’ diverse membership; from beginners to professional artists and includes a variety of personal painting styles, subjects and techniques.
Winners are:
Rita Lallathin Best of Show - a $500 cash prize, Holly Dunn of Salado for “Espiritu”
First Place - Sonja Kever of Austin for “Cameo”
Second Place - Bep Markese of Geogetown for “Monument Valley”
Third Place - Trudy Loper of Georgetown for “Fat Cat"
Four Merit awards were presented in the following categories:
Landscape to Jeri Salter of Round Rock for “Quiet Travels”
Wildlife to Ann Garrard of Georgetown for “Feeding Time”
Portrait to Tillie Farmer of Georgetown for “Red”
Still Life to Mary Beth Martin of Georgetown for “Little Mexican Hat"
Honorable Mentions were awarded to:
Nancy Taylor for “Next Wave”
Margaret Roush for “Glory”
Mary Jones for “Balo” all of Georgetown, and
Joy Schuhmacher of Temple for “Carousel”
The “Peoples’ Choice Award” was awarded to Mary Beth Martin for “Ponderin’ Cowpoke.”
The exhibition totals more than 70 pastel paintings and will be shown in the CAC’s Howard Gallery through Friday, October 21.

Sonja Kever of Austin was awarded Best of Show for her painting “Table for One” and Jeri Salter of Round Rock was presented the Rita Lallathin Award for “Virga, the Trickster.”
