Nancy Manoogian and Carol Jean Goettl were the founding members of our art club.

CTPS has seen a surge in membership this past year, and we continually expand membership. CTPS is a society member of the prestigious International Association of Pastel Societies, which enables our members to participate in their international  conventions and activities.
CTPS is open to anyone with an interest in promoting soft pastels as a fine-art medium, either by actively working and studying the medium, or by being a supporter of pastel artwork.  Current members include all experience levels, from professionals to students, and represent a variety of style techniques from realism to abstract.

CTPS promotes pastel as a recognized medium by educating the public of its enduring beauty, with the opportunity to view pastel artwork by sponsoring shows and exhibitions in the central Texas area. Paint-out  sessions in public areas are occasionally opened to area pastel artists. CTPS members organize painting sessions and informal critiques to assist each person to reach their optimum potential as an artist ... whether they select to be hobbyists or professionals.
